Bravo TV does a great job of keeping viewers tuned in to find out who won Top Chef. Each season another contestant is named the winner and receives several significant prizes as well as bragging rights in the culinary world.
The Premise of Top Chef
Bravo's popular reality show Top Chef allows talented chefs from around the country to compete against each other in a variety of interesting and challenging competitions. The participants are all seasoned chefs with plenty of experience and varying specialties, such as pastry chefs, sous chefs and executive chefs. Some of the contestants on the show own their own restaurants.
Although the contestants want to win the cash prize and other perks of winning the season, some chefs really want the prestige that comes with being crowned the Top Chef of the season. Some of the chefs go on to bigger and better things after having won, and at the very least they become more recognizable within culinary circles.
The Prizes
Do you want to know who won Top Chef as well as what they won? Although the prizes vary from season to season, winners of the regular seasons enjoy plenty of publicity as well as:

Who Won Top Chef Each Season?
The chef crowned Top Chef from each season has proven to the panel of expert judges that the culinary skills and work ethic displayed make the winner worthy of the title.
Season One
Who won Top Chef in the very first season of the show? Harold Dieterle III was the winner of the show's first season and has since gone on to successfully open his own restaurant as well as become a common fixture in a variety of magazines. He also maintains an online presence with his blog.
Season Two
Ilan Hall was quite young to boast so much talent in the kitchen, but his skills really paid off when he was named the winner of season two. Although he attended formal training at the Culinary Institute of America, he was a line cook when he entered the competition. Many viewers were quite pleased when Ilan beat competitor Marcel Vigneron because Marcel had a somewhat abrasive personality.
Season Three
The third season of this show was won by Hung Huynh, an executive chef with international culinary experience. When he entered the competition he was an executive sous chef with an exclusive restaurant. His vast experience in a wide variety of cuisines made him a difficult competitor to beat, and he has plans to open his own restaurant eventually.
Season Four
In the fourth season of this popular show, the winner was Stephanie Izard. She has the distinction of being named the first female Top Chef throughout the show's history. She also has the distinction of having a degree culinary arts as well as another course of study: sociology. She entered the competition as the chef and owner of her own restaurant but after winning has taken to traveling and enjoying her status as a Top Chef.
Special Competitions
Bravo occasionally brings back some of the more memorable contestants on the show for a special competition. Bravo presented an All-Stars episode that brought together some of the members of season one and season two and put them through cooking challenges. The winning team received a substantial amount of money to donate to charity. The winner of this special competition was the group from season one.
A holiday special also aired with various contestants from past seasons with the winner taking a $20,000 cash prize. The winner of this special was Tiffani Faison.
Future Winners
Winners of future seasons of this show will undoubtedly enjoy the bragging rights that come with being named a Top Chef.
