2008 Survivor Gabon Contestants
Check out the roster of castaways who will attempt to "outwit, outplay and outlast" in Survivor Gabon.
Randy Bailey
Randy Bailey, 49, is a wedding videographer from Eagle Rock, Missouri. By his own description, he's an intolerant man who doesn't mind bullying people who aren't able to stand up for themselves. Quite the athlete in his youth and a former Ironman competitor, Bailey leads a more sedentary life these days, but he's sure he has what it takes to win.
Jacque Berg
Quintessential California girl Jacque Berg could be a sleeper threat in this game. This medical sales representative from Santa Barbara is very fit and admittedly thrives on pressure. She could go far in the game if she pairs up with the right alliance.
Danny Brown
Danny "G.C." Brown is a maintenance supervisor from Portland, Oregon who believes a love of the outdoors and sheer determination will be enough to help him win. Is he really as confident as he seems on the surface? It won't take long in the African wilds to tell.
Michelle Chase
Don't let pretty Los Angeles music producer Michelle Chase fool you. She's survived plenty already in her first 24 years, and in her own words, she's bodacious. Chase enjoys boxing, surfing and participating in triathlons. She claims growing up poor taught her how to survive, and she plans to bring that strategy to her Survivor game plan.
Crystal Cox
Olympic gold medalist Crystal Cox, 29, of Durham, North Carolina is still in top form, and should be an obvious threat to competitors in lesser shape. Her biggest challenge will be to keep from offending her tribe with her blunt comments and arguments.
Robert Crowley
At age 58, what can you say about a Portland, Maine high school physics teacher who claims to have the emotional maturity of a twelve-year-old combined with MacGyver-like survival skills? Bob Crowley realizes that age weighs against him in this game, so his plan is to fly low under the radar for as long as he can. Plan B? Become a provider for his tribe so they can't afford to send him packing.
Kelly Czarnecki
Kelly Czarnecki, 22, is a retail sales associate from Buffalo Grove, Illinois. This former cheerleader is used to getting what she wants, and her love of camping and canoeing just might help her survive a while in the game. Whether her overly exuberant personality will annoy her tribe mates remains to be seen.
Ace Gordon
Will Ace Gordon, 27, turn out to be season 17's villainous mastermind? This jewelry salesman/photographer from Naples, Florida is extremely confident in his abilities to sell himself to the other castaways and manipulate them to achieve his goal of becoming the last survivor standing. Will his own arrogance and overconfidence trip him up, and earn him a ticket home?
Charlie Herschel
Herschel, 29, is a New York lawyer. Can he use his Ivy League skills of persuasion to sway the game in his favor? The fact that he's an avid marathon runner might just provide him with enough endurance power to deal with the terrain of Gabon, but can he survive his tribe mates?
Ken Hoang
Ken Hoang, 22, is a professional gamer from California, but can video games really prepare you to survive in a place where wild animals roam freely? Hong thinks so and believes his "mental" game will carry him through to the end.
Corrine Kaplan
Corrine Kaplan, 29, is a pharmaceutical sales representative and self-proclaimed hardcase from Los Angeles who plans to play the puppet master this time around. She's not afraid to manipulate and sell out tribemates to take herself to the end of the game.
Dan Kay
Jeff Probst has already declared Dan Kay this season's Cocker Spaniel, so does this 32-year-old Boston lawyer have what it takes to outwit his fellow Survivor Gabon contestants? He'll need to keep his strategy a secret and be careful who he trusts.
Jessica Kiper
If Brooklyn's Jessica "Sugar" Kiper, 29, looks slightly familiar to you, don't be surprised. In addition to a career as a pin-up girl, Kiper has also appeared on Gilmore Girls. By her own admission, keeping her mouth shut will be one of her biggest challenges, so she plans to flirt a lot.
Gillian Larson
Larson, 61, is a retired nurse from California. She's an extremely active sportswoman who has auditioned for the show 15 times, so don't be too quick to count out this Johannesburg, South Africa native.
Marcus Lehman
Yes, there is a doctor in the hut, and a handsome one at that. Marcus Lehman, a 28-year-old physician from Atlanta, Georgia, believes he has the brains and physicality to bring his A-game to Survivor Gabon. Being charming, physically fit and having medical skills should definitely keep the doctor in the running.
Susie Smith
Smith, a 47-year-old hairdresser and part-time teacher from Iowa, is no stranger to hard work. Having taken care of her family since she was old enough to work, Smith vows to put herself first this time. She's bold, foul-mouthed and completely determined to see this game to the finish. The question remains; will she literally talk herself "out of Africa"?
Paloma Soto-Castillo
Paloma Soto-Castillo, 24, is a student and waitress from Downey, California. She's determined to win so she can open an orphanage or elementary school in Kenya.
Matty Whitmore
A handsome 29-year-old personal trainer from Pacific Palisades, California, Matty Whitmore may just win this year's Mr. Personality title if nothing else. Can a party boy with a trust fund become a legitimate player in Gabon? Whitmore considers himself a fierce competitor, but he's also counting his personal charisma as one of his strongest survival skills.
