Rock of Love 3

Rock of Love 3 is the third installment in the VH1 Rock of Love reality TV series. The dating show follows rock star Bret Michaels, lead singer of the band Poison, as he meets a number of single women to try and find his perfect mate.

The first two seasons of Rock of Love were set up just like most other dating shows. 20-25 girls arrived at a house, lived together, and competed to win one-on-one time with Bret Michaels. Girls were eliminated in each episode until only one remained.

Since Michaels never kept up a relationship with his final choices in the first two seasons, Rock of Love 3 was born. This season is set up a little differently, however. Dubbed Rock of Love Bus, the third season is set on Michaels' tour bus during a month-long tour through middle America where 20 women will all live in cramped quarters as they vie for the rocker's attention and affection.

As the women are eliminated from the show they are dropped off in the city where the tour bus is currently parked.

The third season of Rock of Love features competitions that the girls must undertake in order to win valuable time with Michaels. Since they're on tour, the challenges and competitions are designed to reflect the rock star lifestyle. These challenges include:

• Greeting and welcoming groupies on the tour
• Handling the advances from the members of the tour band
• Taking on the job of a roadie
• Enduring a hectic and tight schedule without cracking from the stress

Also back from the first two seasons is the popular Mud Bowl, where the girls get down and dirty playing football in the mud.

Bret Michaels was born in Pennsylvania, on March 15, 1963. He formed the rock band Poison in 1984, and he is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist for the group. He has released several solo albums, including a country rock album after acting as a judge on the reality TV show Nashville Star.

Michaels has also written, directed, and starred in a movie called A Letter From Death Row, in 1998. He is featured in the video game Guitar Hero 3 and has appeared as a celebrity guest on the game show Don't Forget the Lyrics where he played the game to win money for charity.

On September 26, 2008, a crew member of 51 Minds Entertainment - the production company behind the Rock of Love series - caused a fatal collision on Interstate 57 in Southern Illinois while en route to a tour stop. The man was traveling alone since Bret Michaels and all of the women involved in the show had left earlier in the day.

The truck driver, who was carrying a load of sound equipment for the show, had fallen asleep at the wheel and caused the deaths of two college students. Two other people were injured, but the driver himself was unharmed.

Filming of Rock of Love Bus was suspended at the time, and Michaels made a public statement that he would not return to filming the show until he was able to reach out to the families of the two people who were killed in the accident. Filming was picked up several days later in Alabama.

After season two of Rock of Love, Bret Michaels announced that he wasn't interested in doing any more shows. A similar announcement was made at the end of filming for season three, but with the show being so popular there's always a possibility that there will be more installments.
