Celebutante Kourtney Kardashian has definitely made a name for herself in the reality television world as well as several social circles. With a couple of television shows already under her belt, it's no wonder you are hearing more about her in entertainment news these days.

Kourtney Mary Kardashian was born April 18 1979, in Los Angeles, California. She is the eldest daughter of Kris Houghton (now Jenner) and Robert Kardashian. Her father was O.J. Simpson's defense attorney during the infamous 2003 murder trial. Her parents divorced in 1989, and a few years later, her mother married Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner. Robert Kardashian died in 2003 from esophageal cancer. Kourtney Kardashian has two sisters, Khloe and Kim, and a brother, Robert. She has one stepsister, Casey Jenner, and two half-sisters, Kendall and Kylie Jenner. Her stepbrothers are Brandon, Burton and Brody Jenner, the latter of whom is also a reality television star.

After graduating from Marymount High School in Los Angeles, Kourtney Kardashian attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, for two years. She graduated from the University of Arizona (Tuscon), where she graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Theater Arts. Her minor was in Spanish.

Kourtney Kardashian has been in an on-again/off-again relationship with socialite Scott Disick, a hookup that is heavily spotlighted in entertainment and celebrity gossip news.

In August 2009, she announced she was pregnant with his child, an event that took the entire Kardashian family by surprise, especially her mother. She is due in December 2009 and no plans have been made as to whether Kourtney and Scott will tie the knot. He did, however, move in with her.

Along with sisters Kim and Khloe, Kourtney is part-owner of DASH!, a high-end clothing store in Calabasas, California that caters to local celebrities. She also co-owns Smooch, an upscale children's boutique, with her mother. They have locations in Los Angeles and New York City, New York.

Because of Kourtney's appearance on the 2005 reality show, Filthy Rich: Cattle Drive, the Kardashian family because household names. This show was about children of celebrities who lived and worked together on a cattle ranch in Colorado. The goal was to raise money for numerous charities. The show lasted for only eight episodes.

E! Television caught wind of Kourtney Kardashian, and within two years Keeping Up with the Kardashians hit the airwaves. This show, which focuses on the lives of both the Kardashians and the Jenners, had three successful seasons and in the summer of 2009, was planning a fourth. Season highlights regarding Kourtney include:

• Scandalous photos of her resurfacing
• Helping teach her younger sister Kendall about the birds and the bees
• Posing for 944 Magazine, a fashion and entertainment publication
• Accusing her boyfriend of cheating and breaking up with him
• Dealing with the rising popularity of her sister, Kim

Because of the success of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, two of the sisters were given their own reality show, Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami. This program takes the girls to Miami, Florida, where they work to open an East Coast DASH! store. While the show focuses on the two Kardashian sisters, the remaining family members will have guest appearances. This reality show went on the air in the summer of 2009.

• She agonized telling her family about her impending pregnancy and even considered termination.
• While in Las Vegas, she thought about marrying Scott and ended up with him at one of the city's chapels.
• In 2008, Kourtney and her family appeared on Celebrity Family Feud and lost to former baseball and football star Deion Sanders and his family.
