Kendra Wilkinson Bio

Kendra Wilkinson's bio may not be as elaborate as some reality television stars, but she sure is getting there. From being Hugh Hefner's girlfriend to starring in her own reality show, she's definitely turning into one of Hollywood's rising stars who loves life in front of the camera.

Kendra Leigh Wilkinson was born June 12, 1985 in San Diego, California. She is the eldest of three siblings, and her parents split up when she was 4 years old. She attended Clairemont High School, where she graduated in 2003. It's no secret that Wilkinson loves sports -- specifically football -- and loves to play the game just as much as she loves to watch it.  She also loves baseball and softball and spent six years playing for the Clairemont Bobby Sox. 

It was by chance that Kendra Wilkinson met Playboy mogul Hugh Hefner. While walking by a fax machine in his mansion's office, he spotted her picture and inquired about her to his staff. Soon after, she was hired as a "painted girl" at Hefner's 78th birthday party. He liked what he saw, so he invited Wilkinson (and her two dogs) to move into the mansion and be one of his girlfriends.

The then-19-year-old jumped at the opportunity and loved the chance to live in the mansion with Hefner and his two other girlfriends, Holly Madison and Bridget Marquardt. The trio then helped Hugh Hefner create his first reality television show, The Girls Next Door.

The show has been a staple on the E! cable television network since 2005. Its fifth season finished airing in March 2009, with commitments made for a sixth season. However, the newer episodes will be shot without Wilkinson, Madison and Marquardt. At the end of season five (March 2009), the trio moved out of the mansion after going their separate ways with Hefner. Wilkinson wanted to experience life on her own. 

Wilkinson quickly discovered that she had a life after Hefner. She started dating  Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Hank Baskett, and quickly announced their engagement. The two were slated to be married in June 2009 at the Playboy Mansion. 

Professionally, her goal is to become a licensed massage therapist or sports announcer. She was also a regular blogger on the Philadelphia Eagles website.

On several episodes of The Girls Next Door, Wilkinson touted her love for the Olive Garden Italian restaurant, claiming it was her "soul food." The Wall Street Journal even went as far as printing on its front page that she was the eatery's "Biggest Celebrity Fan." However, Olive Garden officials have been reluctant to comment on this endorsement since it's always been known as a family friendly restaurant. Wilkinson's reputation, however, has been anything but family friendly.

The Girls Next Door was just the first step in Kendra Wilkinson's professional life. After she moved out of the mansion, she started filming another reality television show for E! called Kendra, which takes a look at the former Playboy model and how she is living her life on her own.
