Daisy de la Hoya
From LoveToKnow Reality-TV
Reality TV star Daisy De La Hoya is a familiar face to VH1 viewers and gossip blog readers alike. Her weepy television appearances, risqué photos and rumors of alcohol abuse have kept her in the public eye.
About Daisy De La Hoya: Daisy’s TV Career
Viewers first got to know Daisy De La Hoya on VH1’s Rock of Love 2, as she competed for the love of Poison front man Bret Michaels. On that show, Daisy was an early standout, and she kept Bret interested in her all the way through until the final episode. He eventually chose someone closer to his age, Ambre.
On that show, Daisy made an impact with the viewers – and Bret – for a few different reasons. First was her emotional reactions to things. Daisy was spotted in tears during most of the episodes, and as the series progressed she seemed to be coming apart more and more. This behavior concerned Bret, who was also concerned about her young age (Daisy is in her early 20s). It then came out that Daisy still lived with her ex-boyfriend – a fact she did not disclose to Bret until the ex-boyfriends came to the house to meet with him – and that she had previously had a relationship with Bret’s Poison band mate C.C. DeVille.
Daisy seemed heartbroken after Bret did not chose her, and she did not make an appearance in other VH1 shows that Rock of Love alums took part in: I Love Money and Rock of Love Charm School. The reason soon became clear – Daisy was to star in her own show, the cleverly named Daisy of Love.
On Daisy of Love, Daisy got the chance to step into Bret’s shoes as a group of hopeful suitors competed for her affections. Several of the men bowed out of the competition along the way, but one such quitter, London, eventually came back to the show and won the competition.
Daisy De La Hoya: Music Career and Personal
Daisy’s music career began with the band Seraphim Shock, for whom she played bass. This band was also the band of her ex-boyfriend who appeared on Rock of Love 2. The band released one album, Halloween Sex N Vegas, in 2003 and spent 2004 touring to promote the release. After her time on Rock of Love 2, she left that band. Daisy released a solo single to coincide with the launch of Daisy of Love. The first episode began with Daisy delivering a performance of that single.
Daisy De La Hoya claims to be boxer Oscar De La Hoya’s niece, however the boxer claims to have never heard of Daisy. Daisy addresses this by saying her father was not around for most of her life and that she has only begun meeting her extended family as an adult.
Since her VH1 appearances, Daisy has been linked to her former Rock of Love co-star Bret Michaels and Pamela Anderson ex Tommy Lee. After Daisy of Love, she said she planned to take her relationship with show winner “slow”.
Rumors regarding Daisy’s drug and alcohol use have popped up frequently in gossip magazines and her website. In May, 2009, Daisy was hospitalized for what many reported was a drug overdose. Her agent made a statement that she was simply suffering from exhaustion. The 911 call her friend made prior to the hospitalization was leaked later, and it revealed that he called 911 and requested an exorcist. Her agent explained this as delirium resulting from exhaustion. Other people reported seeing Daisy drinking heavily at a Hollywood club on the night prior to her hospitalization.
