On the reality show Bromance, MTV showcases Brody Jenner in his quest to find a male best friend. The show is similar to Paris Hilton's My New BFF and progresses through in a similar fashion.

What is a Bromance?

The term bromance has been around since the 1990's. It's defined as a non-sexual relationship between two men and contains portions of the words "brother" and "romance". The former editor of skating magazine Big Brother first used the phrase in the 90's and meant to describe the close bonds skaters develop because they spend countless hours together.

Nine guys come to Hollywood to participate in challenges in order to become Brody's best friend (one of three). Brody Jenner originally was on The Hills and frequently visited Keeping up with the Kardashians. Now he has his own reality show, which runs six episodes. Eliminations occur in a hottub, which raises the embarrassment level when the cut bro must be eliminated in some humiliating way. For those participants who need to vent, there's the "canfessional" where bros can confess or talk or relax while sitting on the toilet.

Season One Episode Recaps

Episode One

In the first episode, viewers meet Brody and learn that his life "doesn't suck". The guys get roused from their sleep in the middle of the night by some brutes and are taken to meet Brody at the "Bro Mansion". The first challenge is for each guy to bring two girls to the Fredericks of Hollywood Lingerie Party. The reason is because Brody wants to see if the guys can hold their own and have their bro's backs so there aren't just men at the party. The winner is the one with the hottest girls. Luke won the challenge and Jacob was sent home.

Episode Two

Brody decides that a "Bro-Athalon" is necessary to see how athletic the guys are and how positive they can stay. The first event is the Lazy Bro Slalom Challenge, which Luke wins. The second event is the "Bro Your Boat" challenge where two teams float across a pool on a blow-up doll that they have to dress. Luke and Jered win this event. The final event is the "Bro-MX", which involves the guys jumping five barrels on small bikes. Alex wins the last event. Brody then spends some one-on-one time with each of the guys and gets them to open up. Chris P. is ultimately eliminated.

Episode Three

Lauren Conrad from The Hills joins the show for this episode. She asks questions like "What do you look for in a woman" and "How do you charm a lady?" Lauren isn't thrilled with most of the answers, but chooses Alex to win the challenge. The next challenge is "Activities Day" where each guy plans an activity for the guys. The elimination for this episode is at a Mexican restaurant. The bottom two guys, Gary and Jered are taken outside. Jered is shot with paintballs, indicating he is the loser.

Episode Four

Brody goes camping with the final five and leaves out his two current best friends, Sleazy T and Frankie. Before they leave, the guys go to a biker bar to see who can last the longest in the wrestling ring with Mario, which Luke wins. At camp, the guys share feelings and memories with a Life Coach. Later that night, as the bros are sleeping, Brody lets Sleazy T and Frankie release an alligator into the guys' tent. On the high-rise of Brody's apartment, Gary is eliminated while the rest of them are washed off by bikini-clad girls.

Episode Five

In this episode, Brody wants to see how the guys handle themselves in the hustle and bustle of the Hollywood lifestyle. The guys think they are helping promote Brody Jenner Jeans, but everything is fake, from the designers to the paparazzi to the make-up artists. Femi steps up this challenge and admits that the jeans aren't all that great and not suited for a Brody Jenner brand. After divulging to the guys the photo shoot was fake, the guys are then put to the test in front of Jayde Nicole, a Playmate of the Year. Generally the guys do okay, but some are nervous and others don't know how to talk to her. The elimination for Episode Six takes place at a sushi dinner. Alex is eventually sent home for staying under the radar.
