Bad Girls Club

From LoveToKnow Reality-TV

Bad Girls Club is a reality television program that puts seven "bad girls" into a house together for four months and records every incident. These girls all have problems including psychological troubles, substance abuse, anger issues, and just plain bad behavior. As you would expect, there are many fights and clashes in the house.

Bad girls co-exist in a house together.

Bad Girls Club Format

Bad Girls Club airs on the Oxygen network and has set records with high viewer numbers for each season. It was the first original program for the network to draw in over one million viewers.

The first season began on December 5, 2006. For the first two seasons the show was half an hour long. In the third season, which premiered in December 2007, it was expanded to a full hour.

Season one seemed to be a bit of an experiment, with the producers not giving the girls much to do outside the house. The focus was more on their relationships with each other. In season two, the women were given jobs outside the house, much like the cast of The Real World.

The show features many fights, infidelity, and lots of personal problems. Like many reality TV shows, it's sometimes difficult to watch as these women struggle with who they are.

The Bad Girls

For the show, the term "bad girls" applies to a variety of women with attitude or personality issues. Most of the women are all in their early 20s, indicating that they may still have a lot of growing up and maturing to do. The producers claim that there is an altruistic motive behind the show and that these women are brought in so that they can see themselves as they really are. Therapists are brought in to counsel the women who are willing to participate and the finales always end with a reunion session that includes much reflection.

Season One

The women who moved into the house in season one are:

  • Ripsi Terizan
  • Ty Colliers
  • Leslie Ramsue
  • Jodie Howell
  • Zara Sprankle
  • Kelly Harvick
  • Aimee Landi
  • DeAnn
  • JoJo Hernandez
  • Andrea Laing

Ripsi and Ty were both removed from the house after violent physical confrontations with the other women. They were replaced by DeAnn and JoJo.

Leslie left the house voluntarily because she wanted to try and make a better life for herself but felt the attitudes of the others were counterproductive to her goals. She was replaced with Andrea. Jodie also left the house after rumors were started about her that she felt she couldn't get past. Since it was so late in the season at that time, Jodie was not replaced.

Season Two

The cast of bad girls for season two included:

  • Lyric Green
  • Jennavecia Russo
  • Darlen Escobar
  • Tanisha Thomas
  • Neveen Ismail
  • Cordelia Carlisle
  • Hanna Thompson
  • Andrea Sharples

Lyric, who had several run-ins with the authorities over theft, expressed that she wanted to turn her life around. When the other girls got too rowdy for her, she left the house voluntarily. Lyric was eventually replaced with Andrea.

Jennavecia was kicked out of the house when she refused to complete her assigned job. Andrea, who was Lyric's replacement, was discovered by another housemate to be writing derogatory things about the other women in her blog. Even though she tried to apologize, she felt that she would never be accepted and left.

Season Three

  • Kayla "K.C" Carter
  • Amber Buell
  • Ailea Carr
  • Whitney Collings
  • Tiffany Gibson
  • Amber Meade
  • Sarah Michaels
  • Ashley Marie Weaver

Kayla got into a nasty physical altercation with the two Ambers, and felt like the other girls were ganging up on her. She decided to leave the house voluntarily rather than be kicked out, and was replaced with Ashley.

Bad Girls Road Trip

The Bad Girls Road Trip aired between the first two seasons, and featured Zara, Aimee, and Leslie as they visited their hometowns. The show combined a housemate search for the new season with "where are they now" segments which featured more of the girls from the first season.

This six-episode series was just as full of tension and fighting as the regular show, but didn't bring in strong enough ratings to bring it back for another season.
